Change Mental Health to stage first ever GLOW Edinburgh walk with Mental Health UK

The 20km route through iconic city landmarks will raise vital funds for mental health in Scotland.

Change Mental Health, in collaboration with Mental Health UK, is excited to announce the first ever GLOW walk in Edinburgh, set to take place this year on 5th October.

This special event will see participants light up the city as they walk through some of Edinburgh’s most iconic locations, including Calton Hill, Holyrood Park and the Scottish Parliament.

Join the GLOW family

GLOW Edinburgh is part of Mental Health UK‘s broader effort to support local communities, drawing on the expertise of its four founding charities across the UK. Funds raised through this event will directly benefit Change Mental Health and those we support.

Linsey Shields, Director of Fundraising and Business Development, said:

“We are excited to bring GLOW to the streets of Edinburgh this October, raising awareness and funds for Change Mental Health.

“We want to reduce the stigma around mental health. Getting people together to walk through our city to celebrate World Mental Health Day is a great way to achieve that.”

About the event

GLOW Edinburgh is a 20km walk through the heart of the city, taking approximately four hours to complete. Participants can join solo or as part of a team, bringing along glowsticks and lights as they come together to raise funds for mental health services.

This event welcomes all ages—while children under 16 can take part without registration, they must be accompanied by a guardian.

Fundraising with purpose

Whether you’re walking to support someone you know or simply to raise awareness, all the money you’ll raise will support Change Mental Health’s services in Scotland. Your contribution will help to ensure access to support and combat the stigma surrounding mental illness.

By joining GLOW Edinburgh, participants will not only enjoy a vibrant night walk through the city but also contribute to meaningful change in the lives of people facing mental health challenges.
