This half-day training gives Champions the knowledge, skills and confidence to support wellbeing at work. Participants will explore what it means to be a Champion, build mental health awareness and learn how to challenge stigma and promote inclusive, supportive environments.

Mental Health Champions play a crucial role in changing workplace culture, supporting colleagues, and making mental health visible and valued. This half-day training gives Champions the knowledge, skills and confidence to support wellbeing at work.

Participants will explore what it means to be a Champion, build mental health awareness and learn how to challenge stigma and promote inclusive, supportive environments.

The training is built around five core themes:

  • Understanding mental health  
  • What is mental illness? 
  • How to be a champion 
  • Supporting your wellbeing and boundaries 
  • Stigma reduction and cultural change

Mental Health Champions will be able to:

  • Understand what mental health is
  • Explain the difference between mental health and mental illness, including common signs and symptoms.
  • Be clear about their role as a Mental Health Champion, including boundaries and responsibilities.
  • Support themselves and others using practical tools
  • Recognise stigma in the workplace
  • Return to their workplace with knowledge on everyday actions that promote positive cultural change to support mental health and wellbeing in their organisation.
