Bloom and Your Resilience

Resilience workshops for Young People in Scotland

Bloom and Your Resilience are evidence-based, early intervention programmes delivered to young people aged 14–18 across Scotland, helping them develop resilience, improve their mental wellbeing and build practical skills for managing life’s challenges.

Bloom is delivered in schools and colleges, while Your Resilience is designed for community organisations. Through interactive workshops and our co-delivery model, both programmes equip young people with practical coping strategies while building the confidence of staff to continue supporting young people’s mental health.

Both programmes are designed to:

  • Increase young people’s ability to adapt through emotional resilience and coping skills.
  • Promote positive mental wellbeing by providing practical coping strategies and solution-focused approaches.
  • Encourage positive relationships between young people and the adults who support them.
  • Positively impact young people’s engagement with education, future opportunities and employability.
  • Equip teachers, youth workers and other professionals with the knowledge, skills and tools to confidently support young people’s mental health.

How our co-delivery model works

Our trainers will work directly alongside your own staff, rather than delivering sessions alone. Over six weeks, this builds from an initial planning session through to your staff confidently leading the workshops themselves. Here’s what happens at each stage.

Every programme begins with an insight-gathering session involving both staff and young people.

Together we explore:

  • The challenges affecting your young people
  • Your organisational context
  • Priorities for the programme
  • Desired outcomes.

The trainer, young people and staff work together to choose up to 4 of our workshops which best meet their needs.

Our trainers will train designated staff in a 3-hour tailored training session on mental health and resilience, covering an overview of the programme and its concepts, content and materials, as well as a detailed plan for moving forward.

By the end of the training, staff feel equipped to co-deliver the programme and continue delivering workshops independently in the future.

Over four weeks, our trainers work alongside your staff to deliver the selected workshops. This allows staff to gain first-hand experience of delivering the programme. Young people also benefit from seeing familiar staff actively involved throughout the programme, strengthening relationships and creating greater continuity.

Bloom and Your Resilience aren’t one-off sessions that end when the trainer leaves. Our co-delivery model works alongside your own staff, so its impact doesn’t stop there.

Following the completion of the co-delivery programme, delivery will continue to be delivered by your newly trained staff. Our Engagement Officer will meanwhile continue to provide regular support and will keep in touch to assess impact, troubleshoot and discuss any emerging ongoing needs.
