Kingdom Group partnership creates new support service

The group partners with Change Mental Health for resilience building in their Tenancy Support Service.

Change Mental Health is partnering with Kingdom Group to provide a strand of its Resilience service, that will offer essential support to help tenants build mental, emotional and behavioural resilience.

The partnership will see Change Mental Health’s Resilience Outreach Worker, Isla Aitchison, become a Mental Health Resilience Support Worker as part of Kingdom Group‘s Tenancy Support Service (TSS) team. This role has been created through the exclusive partnership, which has been marked as the first collaboration of its kind.

The two organisations will work in collaboration over the next 12 months to focus on the capacity of Kingdom Group customers so they cope with challenges that will ultimately contribute to more secure and sustained tenancies. This will ensure that they have the tools and confidence to thrive within their communities.

This partnership is a vital step in making sure customers across Kingdom’s communities have access to holistic support, helping them manage their tenancies more effectively by addressing key mental health concerns.

“Change Mental Health is delighted to be partnering with Kingdom Housing Association to offer our Resilience service to tenants.

“We know that mental health issues can become significant barriers to successful tenancy and community integration. Providing early intervention and support can help deal with the stresses of everyday life that could be affecting a person’s mental health. Isla’s role in delivering this service to Kingdom Housing Association tenants will enable them to live a fulfilling life and build more resilience so they can become more adaptable and have the flexible support they need to move forward.”

Kingdom Group is one of Scotland’s leading affordable housing and social care organisations. Active across four local authority areas, they have formed excellent relationships with partners in Fife, Perth & Kinross, Clackmannanshire and Falkirk.

Richard Barnett, Tenancy Support Services Coordinator, said:

“ I am delighted to see this exciting new project launch. At Kingdom we want to provide customers with the support they need to sustain their tenancy independently, yet our customers frequently find that poor mental health poses a barrier to them living the life they want. This service will give them the skills they need to move forward and support our mission of providing more than a home.”
