National Advice and Support Service
Supporting you with mental health and money worries,
open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm (closed for lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm).
Money worries and mental health are often connected. Mental health problems make it harder to recover from financial difficulty, which in turn can both prolong and worsen periods of poor mental health. Â
Our National Advice and Support Service can provide support and signposting for a wide range of topics, such as looking after your own mental health or caring for someone with mental health problems. We’ll help connect you with the most appropriate local support, including our own Change Mental Health services.
We have an experienced team of advisers who can help with any money worries you might have, including:
- Carrying out a benefit check to ensure you are in receiving everything you are entitled toÂ
- Completing applications for benefits with youÂ
- Applying for grants such as fuel vouchers, crisis grants and community care grants
- Offering debt advice and support.

Mental Health and Money Advice (MHMA)
We collaborate with our partners at Mental Health UK to run the Mental Health and Money Advice website. This specialist platform features information about benefits and grants that you could be entitled to and how to deal with debt yourself.
Advice for frontline staff
In partnership with the Scottish Government, we’ve put together a helpful advice package that includes information, assistance and training resources for frontline staff who support individuals affected by poor mental health and money worries.
Please note our National Advice and Support Service is not a crisis service.
If you are experiencing significant mental health distress and require urgent support, we encourage you to contact any of the below organisations for immediate assistance.
