Justice Social Work Outreach Support

Voluntary one-to-one support across Dumfries & Galloway with the Statutory Justice Social Work Team, helping people grow skills, confidence and connections.

Justice Social Work Outreach Support provides one-to-one support from experienced Outreach Workers, focusing on wellbeing, recovery and future goals. Outreach Workers meet people in places where they feel comfortable and work alongside them to set goals, build skills and move forward at a pace that feels right.

Support is flexible and shaped around individual needs. Each person stays in control of their plan, with the option to make changes at any time and regular reviews to track progress. The service helps people build confidence, develop life skills, connect with their community and access local resources and services that can make a difference in everyday life.

Those supported are matched with a named Outreach Worker and offered regular appointments at times and places that suit them. There are also opportunities for peer support, with the service delivered in a professional, respectful and non-judgmental way that always prioritises people’s rights and choices.

The service operates across Dumfries and Galloway, Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 4.00pm, in partnership with the Statutory Justice Social Work Team.

Referrals are made through Justice Social Workers, who can explain how the service may support someone’s situation and help them take the next steps.

“Everyone’s needs are different and my role is to provide consistent support so that people can manage challenges coming with Community Payback Order and stay engaged with the process.

“For some, it’s about building confidence and for others it’s having the right help in place day to day. What matters is that people feel heard and that their mental health is supported, so they are better equipped to move into more positive ways of managing their lives.”
