Dumfries and Galloway

Change Mental Health works across Dumfries and Galloway to ensure we are reaching people affected by mental illness and those in the remotest areas of the region

We are active from one side of Dumfries and Galloway to the other. We work closely with communities to deliver mental health support to ensure that no one is left behind in some of the most rural areas of the region.

We run resource centres in Dumfries, Annan, Castle Douglas, Newton Stewart and Stranraer. These provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental space where people can socialise and complete skills to improve their confidence and wellbeing while taking part in various activities.

These centres are also hubs for our staff to deliver outreach support to people across the region in their own environment and often hard-to-reach rural areas, to enable them to integrate back into their community.

It’s here we also improve the health and wellbeing of carers through Carer Support, who might have poor mental health through supporting someone with a mental illness. We offer access to peer support and signposting to other relevant services in the area through constantly building positive links in the community.

Our Employability Support Project in Dumfries for adults and young people through a combination of one-to-one and group support to provide opportunities for personal development.

We make sure our services in Dumfries and Galloway are resourceful, welcoming and place you at the heart of what we do. We work in and part of communities across the region and enable you to integrate into these when you are ready to move onto the next step in your journey.
